Mission: Instilling a lifelong love of the arts through cross-disciplinary artistic exploration and play.Motto: Kids are smart, they deserve great artValues: Joy, Connection, DiscoveryHistory: In 2011, Classical Sing Move Play founder, Alisa Magallón embarked on creating a series of classes to teach young children about the arts and introduce them to the complex music, stories, and languages found in operas. After years of delivering these classes independently and touring on the roster of Young Audiences of Houston, Magallón worked with Houston Grand Opera to bring these classes into summer camp activities and offerings at libraries, schools, and parks. In 2024 Magallón created Classical Sing Move Play, LLC to expand into arts education consulting, providing comprehensive training for teaching artists, professional development, curriculum sales, and teaching artist services to performing arts companies near and far.

Alisa Magallón, Founder, Classical Sing Move Play:
Alisa Magallón is a trained opera singer, creative writer, teaching artist and arts administrator. She has led high impact education and community engagement programs for nonprofit arts organizations since 2009, predominantly with Houston Grand Opera (HGO), Minnesota Opera, and Young Audiences of Houston. In recent years, her focus and training has been on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skill building and Equity, Justice, and Belonging in the arts. She attained a Bachelor of Arts in music from Luther College and a Master of Music in vocal performance from Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music. Alisa and her husband Alejandro live in Houston, TX with their two sons. They like to spend their time as a family eating tacos, taking walks, and breaking out into harmony whenever possible.
